Jim's Statement of Candidacy:
As a new member to this board, I will faithfully serve the best interests of the LVUSD. My most urgent priority will be higher quality education for our students without adding new tax burdens to our community.
Unanimously appointed to President of Homestead Valley Community Council for a second term in June of this year, my abilities to “think out of the box” have vastly expanded the organization's influence and community service achievements, all while increasing our available funds on hand. I will bring this proven track record of fiscal conservatism to LVUSD.
In 2007, The San Bernardino Sun newspaper featured me in a front page story entitled “Man Of The People”, touting my commitment to OPEN GOVERNMENT and TRANSPARENCY. I recently organized a Brown Act and California Public Records Act Workshop for elected officials and residents to promote “Government By The People, For the People” principals. I do not condone backroom deals and non-disclosure.
If elected to the LVUSD board, I will work tirelessly to keep our children in LVUSD and increase the quality of their education, all while exercising fiscal responsibility. This can and must be done.
